The Alesino Rosso is quite tasty for this price point--it's a bit sweeter than I anticipated from a mostly sangiovese blend, with merlot and cabernet making up the balance. Went well with the chocolate I had for dessert this evening. Lots of berries on the palate. I think it's worth the 90 point Parker rating... we'll see how it stands up to cellaring.

(about 1 year ago)This wines nose is so pronounced you smell it from the moment the cork is removed. There are berries and an earthy component. The wine is medium bodies however it feels plump on the palate. The berries from the nose are in fact in the flavor (rare from my experience). The finish was longer than I anticipated at this price point. This was an elegant bottle of wine regardless of price. When value enters the equation this is outstanding. Credit to WLTV Gary Vaynerchuk for this recommendation. I wouldn't have found this on my own.

(about 1 year ago)Lots of dirt on the nose with some dark fruit. This is the first wine I have tried were I could tast "terroir" flavors. Lots of earth and veggie components. The wine was very well balanced and intergrated. It was a little bland for me, but I appreciated how it was made. Its good.

(11 months ago)Wow, what a nose. I love the compost and cherry mix. The wine itself flows on my palate with a balanced acidity and easy transitions. The finish is subtle. The acidity makes this a good food wine- we enjoyed it with corned beef.
