Deep ruby color. A little dark fruit on the nose, but the nose is not giving much at the moment. Wonderful black currant jam on the palate with nice balance and acidity, strong finish. Much bigger LA Vieille than I have had in the past, most likely a product of the extremely hot vintage (14.5% alcohol surprised me). Overall I was really impressed with this wine. 90 pts for me now, but this wine should be more expressive with 2 to 3 more years of bottle age. This is a steal for $20.
