2005 Bogle Petite Sirah
(about 1 year ago)horrible. Very, very dry and very spicy. Maybe be good for someone that loves dry wines, but certainly not me. I gave the rest of the bottle to my landlord and he loved it. He is a ways older than me, so it may have been more to his liking.

(about 1 year ago)I was pleasantly surprised that this wine was dryer than expected. A nice change from the usual big, jammy Cali wines one usually gets at this price point. Spicy. Don't get me wrong. It has good fruit. Nice body.

(about 1 year ago)Dry with a chalky tannic finish. There was some cranberry and sour plum , but in my opinion, the dryness and the fruit was not well intergrated at all.

(about 1 year ago)The quality of this wine seems to fluctuate, but overall some nice dark fruit and warm wood tones.

(about 1 year ago)Nice soft dry wine, not something most people would want to drink on its own, much better with food. Some plum and spice, not phenomenal, but in no way bad.

(about 1 year ago)Really weird nose. Some raspberry and strawberry with watermelon rind and cinnamon hints and some other component that I just couldn't figure out, almost garbage-like. Weird but interesting. The flavor is bright, acidic, and tart which I liked with the same fruit from the nose. The tannins are a bit sour and bitter as well but not overly so. My first petit sirah and I'm looking forward to trying some others.

(9 months ago)Way too much grape taste. Very thin, with an unbalanced mix of fruit flavors. Spicy, with a rough finish. Pretty much what you get with a cheap red - flat and uninspired.

(8 months ago)Almost nothing on the nose. Darker fruit and uncleaned toilet. Palate also has little going on, some red berries on the attack, nothing much on the midpalate, and some boring tannins towards the end. There's really no point to drink this wine, especially because it really doesn't taste like a petite sirah.

(8 months ago)not my cup of tea... this is the over-done Hawaiian-punch type of sweet juice that I'm not too big a fan of. The nose was a little weird, but the wine was not too off-balanced for what it was. If you do like this type of juice, the wine was well made.

(3 months ago)dark fruit, plumb. Nice. Not very dry, easy red.
