Concha y Toro Don Melchor 2004
(about 1 year ago)Wow, this is a monster!! The nose is giving concentrated, sweet blueberry. Some oak and heat also coming through on the nose. Full attack on the palate of dark fruits, a little oak, and again some heat. This wine is extremely tannic and dry. You should put this wine down and forget about it for 10 years. I have 2 more bottles so I’m excited to see how it evolves. I’m going 90 points for its overall structure and power, but I’m hoping the tannins and heat settle down so the wine can show its true potential.
