This had a huge oak nose, with a hint of lemon peel and a tiny mineral aspect. I was afraid that the oak would wreck it, but on the palate, this was all green apple with great acidity, lingering long and luscious on the mid-palate, some of the best mouthfeel from a Chardonnay I've ever had, though not as silky as some of the best reds I've enjoyed. I can see why this winery won the Paris tastings of '76.

Huge California Chard - perhaps the finest I've had. If you think you don't like Chard, now is the time to reconsider - and this is the one to reconsider with!
