(over 2 years ago)I prefer lighter reds. The sour flavor (the cherry?) is too strong for me. This one has gotten great reviews, though.

(over 2 years ago)This was a delicious dry red wine. A bit of bite, some tannins, but it really wasn't too harsh. I loved the complexity of the flavor; different things were going on during each part of the tasting, and there was a very pleasant roundness that lingered to smooth off the stronger initial flavors. A wine steward friend of mine has suggested that this wine will be even just a bit nicer in a year or two, so I may pick up a bottle to keep around.

(over 2 years ago)Terrific Stuff. Good dark Fruit, full body, well balanced. Not too intense and loads of drinkable fun. Another good spaghetti and meatball wine can be found for little $. My local shop seems to have run out so buy it while you can.

(over 2 years ago)I decanted this for 1 hour before drinking. Briar and earth on the nose with some black fruits. Cherry and spice on the palate first, followed by a rush of tannin with green vegetal tones on the mid palate, missing a bit here. Body is in the medium weight range. The finish lingers with a bit of heat. Not sure about the alcohol in this one but it feels hot. Mild oak influence. Definitely a decent quality Sangiovese, and a no brainier in qpr. Italian reds for under 10 bucks are almost always a dissapointment or worse. This one bucks the trend.

(over 2 years ago)I only had one glass. A little short. Decent for the price.

(about 1 year ago)Found a bottle of the 2004 vintage of this wine and popped and poured with my Pizza dinner. This confirmed that I liked the 2004 better than the 2005. Classic Sangiovese profile, with good cherry fruit up front. Dry with nice acidty mid pallette and a smooth though not overly long finish. Great QPR

(about 1 year ago)For the value, you can't beat this Sangiovese. Light flavor and complexity, but easy drinking and ultra-complimentary to pizza and simple red sauce pasta. Just a hint of violet on the nose. A house favorite for under $10.
