Ripe plum and spice on the nose. Full-bodied with purple ink color. Mild oak, but high alcoholic heat on the finish with mild, old-school, earthy finish, as well. Velvety tannins with some acidity. Definitely will soften over time due to young vintage; however, strong bouquet lent by young vintage.

Dry. Fake fruit. A little dark chocolate on the mid-palate. Sour, but not unbearably so. Coffee on the finish.

Light color. Tight nose. A slight cheesy component. Basic attack. Red cherry. Awkward midpalate. Some good fruit on the finish. Drinks more like a Pinot Noir. Pretty basic, but not bad.

I did love the cherries on this wine. It was not complex, but no obvious flaws either. Enjoyed it with tri-tip and taters.
