Without any "open time" the wine had the distinct smell of a cheese danish with raspberry jam. Upon tasting, it was amazing how closely this wine resembled a grilled cheese with browned butter, a bit of bacon fat, and a sour tomato dipped in jam. This wine is "sick" over the top. I do not love it, nor to i think it resembles true cabernet, but without a doubt i think it worth a try for the experience of a ridiculous new world mclaren vale cabernet. Wow, the finish is long and brown buttery.....It also has a cork, which for australia is impressive....Part of wine tasting is an "experience" and there is something anti-climatic about opening a screw cap. Extra props for the real cork. There should be a little gamble for each wine you buy, it adds to the anticipation and the risk.

Had it while I watched Mad Max. Nice dill, blackberry, black currant nose. Smooth, new world, artificial fruit flavors, but! with some real currant-veggie like flavors too. Nice dry wine that's not very complex (infact kinda light), but it has a long dry-yeast finish. Some very nice yeast too. Overall a nice value.
