This wine was a disapointment. I really can't place my finger on it - I think the alcohol was overpowering. I hope maybe it was just a bad bottle.

The color is deep and purple, and for that it's quite nice. Says "new world" to me right off the bat. As insane as it may sound, I get dark fruit on the nose. What is this!? You smell dark fruit in a wine that was made with a... dark fruit?? Wwwoooowww... :-) Anyway, I'm talking about plum for sure and a detectable hint of raspberry. Quite delicious, even if not overly complex on the bouquet. Ok, the taste is great right off of the bat and goes through smoothly through to the finish. Really nice. Classic Aussie Shiraz right here. Bold, a bit heavy but not crazy. The finish is interesting. Strong and delicious, though not super-super long. Highly recommended wine, IMO, especially for Shiraz fans and new world fans in general. Doesn't give me a ton in terms of terroir, but it's super yummy. 92 pts. (11/22/07)
