Morro Bay 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon
(about 1 year ago)Cherry jolly rancher, chocolate, and oak. This is a really light cab and one I think a lot of people would enjoy.
Morro Bay 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon
(about 1 year ago)Strong artificial black cherry taste (I would agree with Cherry Jolly Rancher) with an excessive oak finish (the "Oak Monster" that is typical of California wines these days). I bought this for a song at Whole Foods on the recommendation of a clerk there as a wine they suggest for drinking with barbeque foods. It's not as big and over the top as a lot of Napa Cabs are, but it's got a strong fruit flavor. Note: My first pour had a really ugly finish - very bitter and tanniny, but after putting it down on the counter for a half an hour and coming back to it after it had a chance to breath it really opened up and finished a lot smoother, tasting more balanced overall. So let this one breathe.
Morro Bay 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon
(about 1 year ago)I just happened to walk by the display at Whole Foods in Plano, TX and while I rarely drink Cabs, I thought that it was a small price to pay for a 2002 Cab. What a surprise! This is a lighter and lush fruit that you can actually drink from the bottle without needing to wait a few years. I sent my wife back for a few bottles and should buy a case of this wine that can be enjoyed by itself or with the appropriate food.
