Being the first Chilean white I've had, I had no idea what to expect with this wine, but I was far from disappointed.

I have to disagree with most of the reviews here and other places on two small things. The color was not fantastic, and the nose was present but not center stage; however, the flavor profile was astounding. The interplay between the Jalapeno, butter and citrus was top notch.

A more vivid color and a more aggressive nose would have propelled this wine to 91 or 92 points in my book.

When I first tried this I was blown away by the ridiculous audacity of the Jalapeno characteristics. It will always be the first and last thing I remember about this fucking fantastic wine.

Not only was this wine a value, but it opened my eyes to the possibilities of sauvignon blanc beyond California. Very interesting aloe, lychee, spicy nose. In general, well balanced wine, especially the acidity. Streaming through my palate were also notes of herbs, pine, chalk, and lime that ended just a bit short.

I really wanted to like this - so many people raving about this killer steal. It's not bad, but it was disappointing. Nice color, and interesting nose, though not explosive. Lots of mineral notes and a bunch of herb on the bouquet with plenty of lemon-lime citrus. I thought the flavor profile lacked balance. Lots of acidity, without any great fruit structure - it was like lemon-lime soda. It was almost oddly spicy in a way. Not a bad wine, but definitely not my style. Worth trying for $10, especially given the near universal praise, but be careful.

Bouquet: Grapefruit, Sour Granny Smith Jolly Rancher, Wet Rock, Mineral Explosion.
Flavor Profile: Grapefruit mixed with Granny Smith Apples mixed with lemon zest with a butter mid-late palate ending in just a smooth almost refreshing swallow. For the price unbeatable. Very yummy and surprising wine.
