Not overpowering, but with a hint of bitterness. This cabernet franc lacks some of the peppery kick of some others, but has nice cherry and licorice notes. It accentuates a spicy chili well and is best with meat, which helps to bring out the black pepper finish. 87 might be just a little generous, but this is an enjoyable wine.
