This wine is pretty good, makes a nice standard table wine. I have a few bottles stashed.

Some deep fruits promised on the nose but on the palette seems slightly sweet with some lighter fruits and light tannins on the finish

Wine Spectator gives this 91 points, but I don't think I'd go that high. Quite similar to a $7.99 bottle of Yellow Tail Reserve. Definitely aromatic- plum and black fruit on the nose. The alcohol brings a little too much heat for my taste. It was a little rough. Had it as the 3rd bottle after a couple of outstanding older Napa Cabs. In that context, this wine seemed like an ill-mannered shmuck at a cocktail party: loud and in your face.

Pop the cork and pour - very, very sweet. Let it air - McLaren Vale Shiraz on the sweet end of the spectrum. Swirl and sniff - swirl and sniff. Even after air - still more sweet and sugary than other Aussie big wines. Lots of fruit forward - never really mellowed all the way down to my expectation of the Big Aussie Shiraz from the Vale - still too sugary and Hi-C tasting. I left some in the bottle for tonight - will try again tomorrow - if nothing changes - I'll leave this review as is. I agree with previous reviewer here saying that the Wine Spectator Rating of 91 seems high. I absolutley love Aussie big fruit bomb wines, but this one disappointed me, and I had high expectations for it.
