Label reads "For a long time I went to bed aioli. The quaint, rustic town of Gilroy is the spiritual locus of all matters alliumaceous and par extension, is the burg that is merdional to the max. The wildly fruity, peppery, strawberry-rhubarbity of grenache is the perfect foil for anything prepared al fresco, especially when annointed with olive oil. This iteration of C. de G. incorporates grenache from such far flung piquant outposts as Greenfield and Soledad, which supplements the old vine fruit from the hoary Hecker Pass growing area [close to Gilroy]".

I have been getting a lot of "hmm. nothing really" on the nose lately from my bottles. When I smelled this, I actually said "Oh my God!". It smells like well-done toast with strawberry jam - amazing aroma! The taste isn't bad either, but it is a little on the bright side for red, as could well be expected from Grenache. I'm not complaining, and for that smell alone, I'd have to say its a bargain at this price.

Smells great, tastes great. Threw off a surprising amount of sediment for a such a young wine. Buy it.
