The wine is richly spiced by the deep earth of the Gironde and piqued with pepper. On the nose, a bit of acidity, but with fine texture and taste on the tongue. It feels uncommonly flavorful and managed to spark an unsated interest since the tasting. Tasted in 2000, unable to buy 1991 or 1992 vintages since then. The wine was purchased not in the Haut-Medoc but in Bordeaux proper in a small enchanting restaurant which combined a lot of mango and tropical fruits into dishes.
