Kirkland 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape
(about 1 month ago)Yes, this is Kirkland Signature as in Costco's store brand. They added their badge to Domaine de Nalys Chateauneuf du Pape- a blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre-Consault. It is usually difficult to find any Chateauneuf du Pape under $20 so I thought I'd give this one a try. I was amazed how delicious this was since I was expecting an austere, perhaps bitter CdP. Lively aromas of red berry fruit; strawberry on the palate. Extremely drinkable. Reminded me of a Pinot Noir actually which surprised me. Would buy again for sure, but I haven't seen it at Costco in some time. Really delicious stuff.
