The initial cat pee bouquet (a feature mostly found in whites from Sauvigon blanc grapes) withered away as the hour of decanting took its course. A surprisingly round, impeccable wine with without characteristics beyond that of being a perfect wine. Some dry adidity on the mouth, not really fruity or with distinct berries showing up. Hard to characterize, really. Clearly, there were leather notes after a while, but without that unique feel that makes for a landslide victory in a competition (29 July 2007).

Tautec's notes capture this wine very well (although I have too little experience with cat pee to corroborate its presence in the bouquet ...). If you wanted to convey to wine students what really good Bordeaux tastes like, without confusing them with tastes and aromas that are specific only to some sub-regions of Bordeaux, this is the bottle.
