Trentino Nosiola 2006
(about 1 year ago) buddy icon wolfango 89.0/100
This wine is made from the indigenous Nosiola grapes grown near Lake Garda. The name comes from the dialect version of the Italian word "nocciola" meaning hazelnut. In fact that is exactly the fragrance that reach your nose initially and that persistently accompanies you along the entire tasting experience. At the nose also spring blossom, pear, wet lake stones come to mind. The taste is very similar even if a bit drier than expected. It's surprisingly good and best drunk chilled as an aperitif or with herbs risotto, lake fish, antipasti, bresaola or even with an hazelnut cake from Piedmont, Italy.
