(about 1 year ago)not bad, not great. bought this at Trader Joe's. it's better than 2 buck chuck, but not a great finish.

(about 1 year ago)The nose is extremely tight. I had to sniff a good three or four times, and swish at least twice to tie-down what I was experiencing. Basically, a very overripe sour apple and sweet grass, like the kind you might chew on as a kid at the beach park down the street. A little bit of driftwood and an extremely hidden pinenut. Even for all of this, the finish was lousy and there was absolutely nothing but "uwh" coming from the back-palate. The mid-palate just didn't exist. The legs were thicker that I expected for a Grigio. The mouthfeel was far too astringent, and I do choose my words carefully: dry is beneficial, especially in wine; astringent makes me feel like I'm treating acne from ten years ago. However, for the price I would find it hard to beat, and I do prefer the dry and crisp of the whites. It's worth the buy if you're on a budget, or you want to try to trick your friends into thinking you know Italian wine, when really none of you do. Good for laughs and with a hearty Greek-style sandwich. Therefore, given the price, I'm going to go a little high on this one and give it at 76, more-or-less.

(about 1 year ago)Very light nose. What is present is sour, refreshing and reminiscent of apples. Also a hint of something deeper and spicy. The taste is quite sour - apples again, along with something almost like a grain...rice, maybe. Interesting. I like dry wines, but this is almost too "puckery." Still, for the money it's fine.

(8 months ago)I'm not getting all the haters. this wine is very serviceable. not much of a nose, a little lemon grass and green apple. pallet has lots of sour apple and very dry. not a long finish but it's a $5 bottle. very crisp and refreshing. i love it when people try to sound like a wine snob on this site and that's what's happening with this wines reviews. paragraph long reviews are a little much. give this one a shot.
