2005 Domaine Cherrier Et Fils Sancerre

Sancerre. Damn right. So out of the bottle this wine is extremely white, I mean this is the albino of white wine if I’ve ever seen one. The nose is a little timid but very very pleasant. A little bit of light pear action with a drop of peach, a rock quarry of minerals on this nose like Fred Flintstone. The nose has a bit of rolling spring meadows appeal to me, I am enjoying this nose quite a bit. It’s Snuggles fresh and really nice. Now to taste. There’s a bit of fresh pear and apple but both are nice and light, this is really not a wine that is banging down the doors. It’s nice and subtle like a simple kiss on the cheek after a rain storm and everything is fresh. The mouth feel is really charming and the wet rock is still coming through on the palate as well that finishes with some slight fresh honeydew melon. This wine is the gate-way-wine as far as white wines go. This is the white wine that will lead your weak ass red-wine-only friends into harder things, like other white wines. This wine knows what it is, it’s simple and done very well. For the price this is an absolute GREEN light girl. I want a case of this wine.
