The 1990 Vieux-Chateau-Certan possesses a mind-blowing nose of pomegranate syrup, marshmallow, Brazilian nuts, subtle Indian spice, and the essence of a freshly rolled Cuban cigar that gains and gains power. Very feminine and flashy with berry coulis, delicate acids, and seamless oak tannins. The 1990 V.C.C. reminds me very much of Le Pin from the same vintage. There is nothing more beautiful then an aged Pomerol from an excellent vintage. So precious, it will make you lick the glass for every last drop. A pure narcotic thrust! Drink with roasted lamb loin. I had a chance to taste the 1970 vintage. Though it was starting to fade, it still had plenty of fruit and great structure.
