Marietta Cellars Angeli Cuvee 2001 Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Carignane
(over 2 years ago)This wine, while slightly higher than others in alcohol content, is very smooth and highly drinkable. While not overly fruit-forward or particularly spicy, it presents an interesting array of flavors that pair well with red meat. This wine is an ideal selection for times when you want the food to be the star of the show and the wine to be an excellent supporting actor. I rate it 4 stars (Triumphant)

(over 2 years ago)happy full ripe fruit... well managed tannins... TRIUMPHANT on its own, or with beef, burgers, BBQ and the like... my rating: just short of SILLY-BIZZILY!! - bordizzle

(over 2 years ago)Ripe fruit flavors and long, lush tanins along with a reasonable price tag make this a wine worthy of buying by the case.

(over 2 years ago)My first tasting was like an out of body experience. My first cuvee! Unforgetable...a beautiful hodge podge of flavors.

(about 1 month ago)"Intense" as what came to mind as soon as I opened the bottle. This smelled more like a port than a zin. Dark chocolate and blackberries on the nose. Flavors were consistent with the aroma - pronounced chocolate & dark fruit, slightly dry. medium-long finish and immensely drinkable. I opened the bottle a little over 3 hours ago and am finding it difficult to let go. That's rare because my usual practice is to cork it back up and drink it over 3-4 days.
