Ravenswood Lodi Zinfandel 2005
(about 1 year ago)Lots of sour cherry, some fake strawberry flavor...like strawberry poptarts. The fruit did not last very long and was quickly taken over with a BIG tannic finish. This wine was hard to drink by itself, but was awesome with spegetti. Again, kinda sucks by its self, but tons of red berry goodness with food.

(about 1 year ago)Strawberries, cherries, chocolate and pepper. Slight alcohol edge. Smooth. We love zins and this is one of the best we've had.

(about 1 year ago)Bouquet: Bing Cherry Jam, hints of coffee and black pepper. Touches of alcohol at the tail end. Flavor Profile: Sour Cherry, Cocoa Powder, touch of rasberry. Tannins round out the nice standard Zinfandel. Good entry level Zin, done by the folks who make it right.

(about 1 year ago)To me this wine is more of a dessert wine. The ripe fruit, dried fruits (figs) and caramel flavours are dominant and remind me of dessert wines. There is also a bit of heat on the palate (15% alc). Overall, a solid wine but not my cup of tea.
Ravenswood Lodi Zinfandel 2005
(about 1 year ago)Solid, approachable, lots of dry fruits, but a little austere for a Zinfandel. A little young also. A little mass-produced traits.
Ravenswood Lodi Zinfandel 2005
(about 1 year ago)This wine was okay, big black fruit, a little hot and tannins a bit strong, but okay overall. Not my favorite zin but decent.
Ravenswood Lodi Zinfandel 2005
(about 1 year ago)Cherry and cocoa I'm a little under the weather so not exactly..Able to truely diagnose. Seems like a decent bottle though.
Ravenswood Lodi Zinfandel 2005
(about 1 year ago)a solid zinfandel. not as good as some others at this price point, but enjoyable. a little bit of that fake fruit flavor, which wasn't terribly offensive but it certainly didn't ruin the evening either.
Ravenswood Lodi Zinfandel 2005
(5 months ago)Ripe and juicy with cherries and blackberries. Good fleshiness and fig on the midpalate. Slightly austere on the finish, but overall this is solid Zin.
Ravenswood Lodi Zinfandel 2005
(5 months ago)This is a very spicy candied fruit heavy wine. I can see how others may find it too sweet or fruity. That being said it is right up my alley. I tried it along side the Ravenswood Vintners Blend Zin and the Lodi was far more lucious to me.
