2005 Mas Donis Montsant

New D.O.C. to me, Montsant, Mas Donís is composed of 80% Grenache, and 20% Shiraz. This 2005 is a bit young to drink. Shows a nice ruby red color with nice legs in glass. The nose is fabulous, with aromas of garlic mixed with black sherries, white chocolate, and black pepper. A full bodied wine with expressive flavor profile, it's a little bit one-dimentional due to the strong dominance of the grenache, but shows beautiful balance, great fruit, solid tannins, very vegetable aspects, and a small amout of heat. Some oak, pleasant, not bad. Great mouthfill, exceptional QPR, a food wine. Would go deliciously with turkey on thanksgiving.
