Hawkstone 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon
(about 1 year ago)Deep ruby color. Smoky, oily nose. Smoky body with almost imperceptible plum tone. Very smooth finish. A bit pricey for a rather textbook wine that doesn't go out of its way to distinguish itself.
Hawkstone 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon
(7 months ago)COLOR: Deep and inky – beautiful. NOSE (NO DECANTING): Lively and bold. Teaming with dark fruit and complimented with notes of eucalyptus. SIPPY SIP (NO DECANTING): (PROS)Good fruit up front. Medium - Full Bodied. Soft tannins glide over the mid-palette. The nose foreshadowed the eucalyptus flavors. Add a little dirt and earth in the mix. Good peppery finish. (CONS)Some heat towards the finish. I would recommend decanting for a couple of hours before serving. Finish was exciting, but fell off sooner that I like. FOOD: Amazing when paired with dark chocolate.
