Medium/Full Bodied, dark, but not opaque. NOSE: CHOCOLATE...covered cherries! PALATE: Almost bone dry, tarter rasberries with a hint of clove. Long, DRY finish!

Fine wine, beautiful color!! nose of chocolate and cherries. Dry wine, but not boring nor lacking any multiple flavors such as black licorice, dark plums, lots of vanilla, plus firm tannins, and a sour component that yield a long, delicious, dry finish. A food wine. Fine wine.

when I first 'sniffy-sniffed' this wine, I got leather. It had been open for about 2 1/2 hours when I tried it. Now when I smell it, (been open 3 1/2 hrs) I get some lighter fruits, raspberry, cherry, and definitely get some raspberry on the palate when I take a sip. Lots of tannin and some bitterness right at the end.

Even after decanting this wine for several hours, it still has a strong persimmon effect. The nose is nice, but the flavor doesn't follow through at all.

Not much there right on the opening, but it picked up quite a bit after getting some air for about an hour. Nose was full of cherries (almost like cough syrup) but I didn't find any cherries when drinking. Definitely more...something. Maybe it would have been better with food, which is why I gave it 89. I really enjoyed the smell and mouthfeel of this one.
