Bursting with blueberry and currant fruit, this zips across the palate with a racy texture and refined tannins. Lingers enticingly with a hint of mocha on the clearheaded finish. Drink now through 2009." 90 points-Wine Spectator "Best Value" May 31st, 2007 "Advance" Edition

2004 Columbia Crest "Grand Estates" Merlot
(about 1 year ago)This wine has turned out to be my little jewel of the summer. Very smooth, oaky, round mouth-feel to it; not alot of tannins, but just enough to give it a supportive backbone. Truely balanced with velvety black fruit, followed by a hint of chocolate. My favorite way to drink this wine is to pop the cork and let it sit a day. It opens up even more...trust me. PS - make sure you buy the "Grand Estates" version, the "Two Vines" tastes like an ash-tray.

(about 1 year ago)89 points for the nice effort and 1 bonus point for the QPR. Black fruit and vanilla from oak, nice that it's balanced and not toasty. Light bodied but with enough structure to support the wine. Quite pure, but yet not too straight forward and one dimensional. Smooth and fine tannins. Columbia Crest, RESPECT!

(about 1 year ago)Aroma of toasted, vanilla, and blackberry. Palate of mocha and blackberry. Nice spicy flavor and mild tannins.

(about 1 year ago)A lovely bomb of blueberries, cassis and cherry vanilla. Elegant tannins for structure, and a bit of spicy mint chocolate at the very end. Delicious!
