Robust young wine with stong but not overbearing tannins. Dark cherry and notes of dark chocolate. Good with grilled steak.

Color: Deep dark red. Nose: Dark red fruit. Very strong nose. First taste: Very fruity and sweet, initially. Then the dryness hits you. At first, the tannins really overwhelmed any flavor qualities i noticed, but after the 2nd/3rd taste, it grew on me. I actually liked that mouth puckering feeling from the tannins. The mouth feel was pretty smooth, not very thin. The finish was mediocre, around 10 seconds for me, but I was always left wanting another taste. Near the end of the glass, I did start to get some hints of vanilla that everyone else is talking about, but not as strong for me. Decent cab, but not grr-r-r-r-eat!

Powerful tannins but restrained enough to be be enjoyable. Great vanilla flavors without being overly oaky. The finish is very dry, so be prepared. Given the ridiculous prices of some Cali cabs, this isn't a bad purchase if you're into this style of wine.
