Altare Dolcetto D'alba 2005
(about 1 year ago)Very nice... interesting bouquet of stinky cheese, mushroom, and other earthy notes. Flavor profile is very dry, more earth and definitely some cherry components. Firm tannins. Medium finish. Old-world style. Recommended.

(about 1 year ago)Bouquet: The Dark Earth. Ripe Porcini Mushrooms, leather, aged Porterhouse, touches of roasted Pecans and cheese. EARTHY. Not Fruity. Flavor Profile: Very ripe almost stale black/sour cherries mixed with Truffle oil, dark-dark dirt. Nice strong tannins hold this up nicely. Finishes appropriately dry, very firm. This would be a nice pairing with Porterhouse, Lamb, Gnocchi. This is a loan shark kinda wine, strong, intimidating, but can make a good tomato sauce.
