Black Pig Albarino 2006
(about 1 year ago)Bouquet: Pear, Granny Smith Apple and then a pat of Pineapple with squeezed Grapefruit. Flavor Profile: As Gary said the bitter sweet perfect Apple Juice. This wine is delicious. Moves all over the fruit kingdom with dashes of straw and grasses on the finish. You get your pear, you get your apple you get your pineapple and what surrounds all of these delicious flavors hints of hay, butter and at the finish ... sea mist. This wine pairs with just about anything, chili, kebabs, burgers, whatever you palate desires. A steal at 11 bucks. Buy and drink, drink, smell, drink, smell a little more and swallow.

(about 1 year ago)Reminds me of a thin Chardonnay. Pear and apple with buttery-ness on the finish. I can't recall if this was oaked. I'll give the bottles I bought away - this one's a pass.

(about 1 year ago)This is crisp and clean, green apples and honey suckle notes, layered with mild grapefruit finish. I truly loved this one a totally refreshing white!!!!
Black Pig Albarino 2006
(about 1 year ago)Not bad; it has a wonderful green apple nose, which blasts through on the taste, but it's very acidic (like Sourpatch Kids) with a hint of bitterness at the end. A hint of pineapple, too. A little too sour for my taste, but very drinkable. Would probably be good with food, something to offset the sourness.

(about 1 year ago)Nose: Pear and Apple with some grapefruit and cut grass thrown in. I really liked the nose on this one. Taste: Clean, crisp, not a flavor explosion, but really good. The pear really comes in on the tongue and the flavor profile keeps going. From pear and apple, to grapefruit to more vegetal and grapey flavors. Finishes just as strong as it starts. I really liked this wine.

(about 1 year ago)Really delicious flavors of pineapple, grapefruit and green apple. Nice balance of sweet and acidity. Crisp with a bit more body than Sauvignon Blanc. If you have yet to try Albarino, this would be a perfect place to start.
Black Pig Albarino 2006
(about 1 year ago)Grapefruit, cut grass and pineapple nose. Clean, crisp taste with good acidity and reasonably long finish. Tart apple, pineapple and grapefruit on the palate.
Black Pig Albarino 2006
(about 1 year ago)Cant say much. This was a party wine opened for the family. Seemed to be well recieved, but nothing special.
Black Pig Albarino 2006
(about 1 year ago)Apples on the nose. I didn't notice any pear, but I did detect what came across to me as a real subtle air of beach sand. The taste was dominated by the strong apple. It's incredible and smooth. I really enjoyed this wine with the broiled tilapia that I had prepared.

(about 1 year ago)Pineapples and green apples, nice mouth feel, a nice change from the norm
Black Pig Albarino 2006
(about 1 year ago)This wine is wonderful! A nice explosion of lemon zest on the nose that is very pleasant. The taste certainly maintains the lemony essence, but also has nice sour apples on then palate and sort of a tropical fruit finish, It had a bit of fizz, but this didn't hurt anything. We paired the wine with a coconut and curry shrimp recipe that sort of tasted Thai-like and it seemed to work pretty well.
Black Pig Albarino 2006
(about 1 year ago)Light golden color. Cut grass and lemons on the nose. Lemon and citrus on the front, great acidity on the mid and apples on the back end. VERY enjoyable. Drank with a Filet Mignon, braised carrots, string beans and fingerling potatoes. New Years Eve 2007 dinner at The Tomato Factory. Worked very well. Will finish the bottle on New Years Day.
Black Pig Albarino 2006
(about 1 year ago)Apple and pear flavors. Nice acidity and finish, pairs nicely with seafood. I drink a lot of NZ sauvignon blanc and very much enjoy this as a chage up.
