Oh my! This is some mighty fine zin. It didn't grab me right away, but as it opened up, I started smelling Smuckers strawberry mixed with that "zin" smell. You know the one. The aftertaste was also reminiscent of strawberry, but before that, there was a hint of pleasant citrus that admirably counteracted the sweetness. A well built wine at a manageable price. What's not to like?

A monster wine. Huge, syrupy legs. Nice and thick. Rivals the big Aussie fruit bombs, but a tad less fruit forward. Balanced. Blackberry and a tad bit of spice on the nose. Blackberry and strawberry and spice on the palate. Long finish with a small amount of chocolate and blueberry. Pretty damn good Zin. For 17 bucks, a great deal. Inky purple in the stemware – coats the glass. Best part of this – my local grocery about a mile from my house has about 20 bottles of this in stock. Awesome!! Zin is for BBQ, so I concocted a homemade Pulled Pork BBQ Pizza with meatballs (left over in a red pasta sauce from the weekend) cut into quarters for the topping above the cheese and the pulled pork w/BBQ as the sauce under the cheese and red (purple) onions as yet another topping above the cheese. Three different cheeses - Mozzarella, Provolone, and Monterey Jack. Crust was a Mama Mary's fresh crust from the grocery. Yum Yum. Bon Appetite (as we say in South Louisiana)!
