The nose on this wine was like two Oak Monsters squaring off in a skillet full of hash browns and bacon, with a smattering of red pepper and onion. Seriously. The acid is incredible, it helps to drive toasty qualities on the palate without becoming too creamy or buttery at all. Fresh hickory quality with indiscernible yellow fruit, though lemon comes to mind. This is like the white version of good Pinotage.
