2005 LongSword Vineyard "Accolade" Sparkling Chardonnay

This was neat. I picked a couple bottles of this up as I was tasting across the Applegate and Rogue regions in southern Oregon. So let's just put it out there right up front: It's really hard not to like this wine. The nose is tropical and fruity, and on the palate, you get a blast of sweet, sweet apples right up front, with a little bit of pear, a little nutmeg, and then it fades into a nice toasty-ness in the finish. It's ridiculously tasty, like a bit of apple pie. In my opinion it kicked the pants off of everything else I tasted from them. Very well done. Talking to the owner's brother they're planning for the next batch (2007, i think) to be more dry and complex.
