Chateau De La Negly 2004 Rose Languedoc
(about 1 year ago)A Rose from the Coteaux Du Languedoc. 50/50 blend of Grenache and Syrah. 13% Alcohol $14 Popped and poured straight into glass at roughly 60 degrees F. Color : has some peach and orange aspects. i've heard this color described as the skin on a spanish onion. a farely accurate description. Nose : a bit held back. small amounts of floral/minerals. Taste : creamy texture but with a quick acidity on the front. nice easy floral notes. medium crisp tannins. showing the heat a touch too much. the 13% seems more like 14%. as a result i'm enjoying this more with food (leftover roasted chicken tossed in a spinach pasta with walnuts) than on it's own. in fact it works quite well with the lemon, pepper, and thyme from the chicken. i'm in love with Bandol Tempier Rose, which this is not. but for $14 i could see this as a quick go to with a plate of fruit and a creamier cheese. cheers!
