Sourced from low yielding vineyards, this is a soft, velvety, easy drinking wine with expressive ripe lingering fruit. Barrel aged in French oak Barriques to create a well structured, flavorful wine. Excellent example of cool climate Pinotage.

Wildekrans 2003 Pinotage Estate Wine
(about 1 year ago)This wine knocked my socks off at our local wine bar. My partner and I were delighted when we finally tracked a couple down for our cellar. Its been a while since we have opened one, but here are some of my memories. A big nose, with the kind of grassy saddle aroma that opens up the space behind your eyes. Big fruit and earth flavors with tons of complexity. I keep saying big, I feel like this wine enlivened taste buds all over my mouth and left a lingering fullness on the finish. Beefy, bloody, fruity tempered by oak, grass, and leather. Exactly my kind of wine.
