While the long finish and the earthines was very compelling, the extreme dryness and different flavor didn't agree all that much with my pallete. Maybe after some extra decanting or with meat it will taste better. Gary was right this one was definitely different

Cherry cola nose with lots of dirt. Very dry and earthy wine, with some spice on the midpalate. Finish is a bit short. I enjoyed this, but you really have to be in the mood for lots of dry dirt...definitely interesting.

I loved the nose on this wine, which smelled like twizzlers without the sugar. Beyond that, some nice cherry and cinnamon taste, velvety tannins. The dirt was not there for me which is too bad. It would have made it more interesting.

There is no way that this is Pinot Noir. I like it very much. I'd say it's a ringer for a nice Valtellina Superiore. I don't know if it's 100% but it surely has high Nebbiolo content. The Ghisolfi family has a great reputation for integrity so maybe it got mislabeled? I don't know but bottom line, I'm happy. Tarry, earthy, with cherry fruit and real character. Outstanding value in the Langhe.
