Dark purple. Nose is muted at first. This one needs air and warmth. With air, it has the full Syrah package in style that is a bit heftier than the Northern Rhone, but well under control. Spice and just enough acid and tannin to keep it interesting. Gets more interesting with each sip. Nicely done, especially for the price. 11/09
