Robert Parker’s WA167, Oct 2006 "94 points (Drink 2006-2026. $33.00). Not surprisingly, the blockbuster 2005 Etranger Cabernet Sauvignon boasts lovely purity, superb ripeness, and stunningly rich black currant, licorice, cedar, espresso roast, and spice characteristics. With great length, medium to full body, fabulous purity, and a long, sweet, tannic finish, it should evolve beautifully for 10-12 years and last for two decades." Stephen Tanzer's IWC, July 2006 "91-94 - ($30) Inky purple. Intense aromas of blackcurrant, cherry and pomegranate molasses lifted by a floral element. Round and sweet, with deep flavors of creme de cassis chocolate and roasted coffee. There's impressive structure here but the wine is bursting with lush, sweet dark fruit flavors that completely absorb the broad, velvety tannins, leaving blackcurrant and blueberry in its wake. Sure to be a superb value."

(about 1 year ago)A bit early to drink for this one, but somewhat jammy.

(6 months ago)Wonderfully powerful nose of red licorice, mint, and vanilla. Great Cabernet dark inky colors. On the palate is a typically Aussie "fake" fruit taste with a hint of coffee and an obviously absent tannin...not much finish on this one. Probably would keep for another year for a bit more complex finish.
