Really big red. It's smooth, which is nice for a wine at this price. I think it would compliment a peppery steak really well, although I've been drinking it alone. Great value. Not for those who only drink whites, it's "big".

A medium garnet shifting to a faint rose petal on the edges. The nose is very tight. Tough. Nose remains fairly closed over time with light cherry and tea leaf. Maybe some dusty bicycle inner tube (way secondary). The palate begins with a hot note. This mellowed after another hour +. Smooth mouthfeel however one dimensional. The mids have some red currant, hints of oak, and David Copperfield tannins. Poof! Touch of bitterness on the finish. No QPR here IMO. Not a food wine but became better with dinner.
