Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay 2005
(about 1 year ago)Wow. The best way to tell you about this wine isn't just your typical see, swirl, sniff, sip, savere shit. Here is a Sonoma Cutrer story: I sold this table a bottle of Clo DuBous. When they wanted another I reminded them of my first seggestion. The host, said okay...they almost died from the difference when the Cutrer hit their tongues. ginger-citrus opening song with a traditional chard full bite chorus yet mild somehow with a lasting buttery mild sweet carmel long finish in the back and sides of your pallet for the encore.

(about 1 year ago)Very nice but there are better deals in this price range... Somewhat juicy, a bit creamy and a nice clean, rich, lasting finish.

(about 1 year ago)Beautiful little chard. Nose shows a nice open boiled pea and citrus mixture, and wonderful acidity takes over on the palate. Overall impressions for me are of lemon rind and cream on the finish.I don't know the story of oak usage in this wine, but only a slight creamy rich note on the finish gives the hint that it could be there. I never thought I'd say this, but this Cutrer is all about balance and restraint. Kudos to them.

(about 1 year ago)Great atypical chard! Nice citrus flavors on the attack finishing with buttered artichoke. Somewhat disjointed transition to the mid-palate. Definite buy at $13.50

(about 1 year ago)Very good chardonay, balanced, good acidy, great friut, hints of citrus, definately not overoaked.
