Marquis Philips 2004 Sarah's Blend (Screw Cap)
(over 2 years ago)This is a very robust and fruit-forward wine. If you like full-bodied, fruit bombs, this one may appeal to you, though it was too much for me and I thought the alcohol (15%) was really hot at the end and detracted from rest of the wine. All in all, the combination of full fruit and heat just simply overdid it. Robert Parker gave it a 91.

(about 1 year ago)Great blend. Very smooth if paired well. Less, if sipped alone. Both ways, full berry flavor. Picked up 2 more bottles after trying this first.

(about 1 year ago)If you can get past all the bombast of this high alcohol bruiser, its a pretty good wine. It really took some time to open up and yes, don't drink it alone. Well, you can drink it alone, just have some food with it! Marquis Philips makes good wines and most of them are better than this one. I would rate it higher if the price were lower. Get yourself a bottle of the S2 from them if you can find it.

(about 1 year ago)I thought this was a good wine with good structure, I had this with a plethora of grilled foods so maybe it altered my perception. The alcohol is a little much for me though.
