This wine was born on the banks of the Miño, the great river of Galicia. Here it flows slowly through the last leg of its long journey to the Atlantic. The vineyards are surrounded by pine and eucalyptus forests and the ruins of ancient Celtic fortresses. In the midst of this poetic landscape, Albariño, the queen of Spanish white varietals, ripens slowly. The wine draws your attention with aromas of ripe apples and peaches. On the palate Nora has an excellent balance of fresh fruit flavors and rich silky texture. Bottled by: R.E. 6691-PO for Viña Nora S.A., As Neves, Galicia. España. Rias Baixas Denominación de Origen. 100% Albariño.

Nora Albariño 2006
(about 1 year ago)Light yellow color. Intense nose of apple and brine. Good, acidic, lively mouthfeel with medium weight and great apple, pear and brine taste. Finish is brine and citrus with good length. I thought this was classic with Tilapia cooked in butter and leeks!

(about 1 year ago)Strong apple, pear, and appricot on the nose. Rich, buttery popcorn and apricot dominating the flavor profile. Great with seafood. I had this with Thanksgiving dinner. It was a hit.

(6 months ago)Pineapple and pear nose, the mouthfeel is excellent, good, full, refreshing. Nicely acidic, and good citrus flavors. Would be great with fish, enjoyed it with a light salad.

(5 months ago)Wasn't quite as interesting as I'd hoped for, but was still fairly solid. Would be well-paired with some light fish.

(4 months ago)For someone who doesn't drink many whites, this is one that I fall back on when occasion calls. Crisp, refined, and refreshing. A good wine to pull out for white wine drinkers at dinner parties.
