(11 months ago)I must say that I like the Vichon wines from a value perspective. Could it be a tinge of tangerine in the nose or am I imagining it? At any rate, it is a good whiff! This wine is young but drinkable. Slightly acidic but in a good way, not overly so. A longer finish for a Pinot. Elsewhere, I have reviewed the Merlot-Grenache which I liked a tad bit more but this is a great buy as well!

(10 months ago)Definitely not the best structured Pinot I've had. Lacks consistency on the strawberry/fruit aspects and seems to be more of a moving target trying to say to you 'figure out what I am specifically, come on, try and catch me!'. Frustratingly smooth, yet unpleasantly confusing from nose to palate with it's profile transition.

(10 months ago)This is a pretty good Pinot for 10 bucks, no doubt about it. It is medium ruby in color and density and I like what I call the "French funk" of this wine, as opposed to the CA version. It has the structure you come to expect in old world wines.. the tannins, earthiness, and oak that doesn't get in the way... but is also quite fruit forward, as you might expect from a new world wine. The fruit is largely typical of a red Pinot Noir with mostly strawberries, hints of other red fruit, plus a little blackberry thrown in for good measure. I agree with fanafi that the nose doesn't match the flavor, but I see this is a good thing - it makes it more interesting. To me it adds to the complexity of the wine, which is in my opinion a little on the narrow side still. It is a nice wine to drink on its own and would pair well with medium to light dishes (maybe not steaks and bbq).

(8 months ago)Bought this wine at the $.05 sale at BevMo. All about this wine: for $9.97 it is a pleasant simple table wine which say pinot on the front. And since I prefer to drink inexpensive pinots as opposed to Two Buck Chuck, which will kill you, it's a good value! Same producer as Red Bicyclette.
