A very good dry lambrusco. I bought this because it was advertised as a dry fizzy wine. Remembering the lambrusco from my youth (Riunite a sweet fizzy wine that can only be refered to as grandma's wine) it seemed only fair to give the real McCoy a tasting. A lot of berries on the nose. On the palatte, dry berries with a little acidity. The dry fizz and acidity makes it a great food wine. The label says to enjoy with salami and parmesan cheese. I did and it was a great match. This was a bit of a surprise since the last lambrusco I had was about twenty years ago. This was a WL purchase and I bought two. This one was opened to see if I needed to drink them while the warm weather is still here. It's good enough to keep it for the right occaison. For those partial to reds, this would be a great starter wine for a party or could be substituted for a sparkler on other occaisons (note it is a light sparkler not a heavy sparkler). It has the right combination of fizz, dryness and a little fruit. Well worth it for the money.

The light taste of this red sparkling wine is refreshing to the palate and is a perfect late summer/early autumn wine. The crisp, fruity taste easily cuts through the classic salty snacks, like olives. Light-bodied and fruity with a short finish, this wine give you light flavors of blackberry and cherry.
