I bought three bottles of this at the winery when they were holding a clearance. I wish I had bought a case. Clos du Bois has not done a reserve shiraz bottling since this vintage - too bad because this one really shined. However, its true character didn't emerge until after it had been open over an hour. Before then, it was enjoyable but not special. Once it began to open up, it developed earthy layers of complexity that weren't at all evident before. It became a stunning and complex wines, with layers of fruit, earth and smoke. Alas, this wine is no more, as we consumed the last bottle.
