Dubakella 2004 Pinot Noir
(about 1 year ago)Spicy strawberries on the nose. Strawberry twizzlers too. On the palate, more plastic strawberries, with a finish of weak grape soda. Sounds much more unappetizing than it was. Enjoyable, as a sipper pre-dinner.

(about 1 year ago)Nose: strawberry, fig newton, mustard-relish combo (although my husband never picked up on that one). Taste: candy, strawberry, flavored iced tea with sweet-n-low in it. This wine was delicious! The finish was very long and it reminded of when I order iced tea and put just one too many Sweet-n-Lows in it (kind of an artificial sweetener flavor). A little bit of oak, but it's in balance. I really enjoyed the wine a lot.

(about 1 year ago)Different and atypical for a California Pinot. Trinity County which limits with Oregon probably explains why. Nonetheless, burgundian wine with added value, awesome transition, with predominant vanilla flavor, and subtle citric finish. Subtle, fine tannins.

(about 1 year ago)Hmm. This is my second day with this one open. I initially popped and poured. This time (2nd day) I poured and let it sit for about 1.5 hours. Dark maroon and clear. Nothing really striking initially on the nose for me. Maybe some underlying hints of some red fruit, but not much. First taste impressions: tartness; still. I definitely agree with the others about the cranberries in this one. Then some sweet undertones poke their heads through. Tannins were moderate and the finish goes back to the bitter side. The finish lasted around 10 seconds for me and never really left me 'wanting' that second glass again. Not bad, not great, almost pretty good.

(9 months ago)I bought two bottles of this wine. The first I didn't care for at all. I was very surprised by the second bottle though (I gave it another chance rather than gifting it away). It started off very closed, but once it opened up there was a lot of complexity in the wine for something this "cheap." Forest floor, stinkyness as well as cherries and strawberries. A very nice effort for the price.
