Coopers Creek 2005 Sauvignon Blanc

A tangy, racy, gregarious wine with a soft and appealing subtlety to boot. Upfront, the smell is of alpine creek and tropical fruit -- particularly lime -- and the taste is not fruity so much as it is a Platonic ideal of clean and clear nectar. Quickly, though, quince and fizzy grapefruit flavors explode onto the palate, followed by a long and gradual finish of green apple and subtle spice. Each delicious sip lasts for minutes. 90 from WS. $13
