Trentadue 2003 Old Patch Red Sonoma
(over 2 years ago)I'm normally not a big Zinfandel fan, but this is a very nice wine, with generous doses of Petite Sirah helping the structure without creating an overly tannic wine. So I agree completely with the Wine Advocate review -- "89 points. Exuberant, spicy, peppery, herbal and black cherry and berry fruit... Depth and no hard edges." 55% Zin, 22% Petite Sirah, 7% Carignane, 4% Sangiovese and 1% Syrah. Grapes cultivated from Dry Creek Valley, Anderson Valley and Lake County vineyards. Particularly nice given the price.

(about 1 year ago)Mellow compared to the bright reds I've been trying lately. Dried raisins and herbs that have been soaked in cola.

(about 1 year ago)Mostly zine with some petite sirah and a few others mixed in, this one shows a medium body and robust, rustic flavors.
