A to Z 2004 Oregon Pinot Blanc
(over 2 years ago)Interesting wine! Touch of lime first, then peaches as it warms, then apples, then honey. Off dry AND off-sweet AND off-tart, balanced and highly adaptable. It tastes creamy with vacherin fribourgeois (swiss cow cheese), limey like a Sauvignon Blanc with manchego, crisp and dry with Crater Lake Blue, slightly sweet with fried plantains, and neutral with my neutral Spanish rice. But while very likeable, it never tastes amazing -- so it's a jack of all trades, master of none.

(3 months ago)Tight, aroma-wise. Pleasant enough pear/citrus flavors, and quite viscous. Didn't have enough fruit flavor or acidity, though, to carry along with that mouth-coating feel (is that what 'flabby' means?) Not a great food wine, but interesting for its texture.
