Jubilee Hugel 2000 Pinot Noir
(about 1 year ago)On the tilt i find a medium dense cherry red with a faint orange on the rim. The nose is a bit tight but does give off cherry and what reminds me of a clay incense holder i had in college. The kind that looks like a Mexican pueblo and releases the scent through a clever little smoke-stack. Okay, okay, i admit, i was pretty high in college. The palate smacks of pepper and cherry up front. The mids go a touch smokey with oak and what i sometimes describe as red apple skin tannins. Not bitter but certainly not sweet. These flavors follow through to the end. However, right at the very last second, there's an interesting little hit of strawberries dipped in chocolate on the tip of tongue. Overall i feel like this could use another hour plus to open up.
